We can split seas

We can split seas

Now you must be thinking, it is something impossible for us.

Well, Let me tell you how we can split seas.

The story of Musa alaihissalaam in front of the Red Sea is a powerful story to me. In this story, Allah swt compares the reactions of two different groups to the same external event.

When the followers of Musa alaihissalaam saw the army of Pharoah approaching, they said “indeed we will be overtaken”. And that is a natural reaction to being stuck in front of the Red Sea with a superpower army behind them.

Certainly, we are not going to be put in front of the Red Sea with an army behind us. But we are going to be put into situations where we feel trapped. We do not see a way out.

Do we find ourselves in difficult situations?

YES. A lot of times.

However, what is amazing here is the reaction of Musa alaihissalaam. The way he responded in that exact situation. He said, "No, indeed my lord is with me, and he will guide me through this".

So how was Musa alaihissalaam able to respond in that way? The answer is that his focus was not on the problem. His focus was not on the red sea. His focus was not on the army of Pharoah, instead, his focus was on Allah.

Whatever we focus on GROWS.

For that reason, Allah swt told us to be conscious of him at all times. The more we focus on him, the more his greatness will increase in our hearts.

I love the concept of this story by Usthaza Yasmin because it has helped me change my perspective, at times when I felt like there is no way out.

Therefore, our attitude in difficult times should be, ”Indeed my lord is with me, and he will guide me through". This way, we can split seas as well. In sha Allah.
