Cawing Crows

Cawing Crows

Yesterday, I went to the beach. As I sat on the bench with my notebook to come up with some content ideas. I was taken by the serenity in that environment.

Looking at the enormous waves smashing in the distance against a backdrop of a blue sky with cumulous clouds, my mind was incredibly tranquil. And the sound of water splashing on the coast made it extremely tranquil.

Just then, a crow appeared and began cawing as I was writing. And it wasn't a soothing sound for me. I wanted it to take off from there right away. But I was aware that I had to either chase it away or simply shift my focus to the soothing sounds.

The negative thoughts that run through my head are exactly like the black crow. It simply keeps cawing once it appears. Making me crazy, but as soon as I was able to shift my focus away from the crow, and toward the sound of the waves, it didn't disturb me as much.

In a similar vein, everything depends on our focal point.

According to research, the average person has around 60,000 thoughts per day. Of those, about 90% are all negative thoughts. And if we put our focus on them, we would exhaust all our energy.

This is the mindset I find myself presently having. Although, I wasn't always this way. In fact, I was the complete opposite. I suppose I could say that, over the course of a decade I was living in survival mode. However, I don’t call that living, I would rather call that surviving.

To me, every day was like a struggle, to just survive. Dealing with severe mental health disorders, low self-worth, low self-esteem, and self-sabotaging behaviors. And the only thing that always kept me going was my relationship with my creator.

The crows in my head continue to show up sometimes. However, I no longer allow them to stay on the branches of my head for too long. I know the more I focus on its cawing the louder it will get. It is a psychological reality.

The Dewdrop Leadership Certified Coaching Program has been incredibly transforming and life-changing for me so far. Anyone who was familiar with the former me has seen the shift. Additionally, the older parts of us die every time we progress. We only keep the parts that enhance our personal growth. And only by doing so, your brilliance is unleashed.

Those crows that caw will always be around. However, we can choose to focus on the pleasant sounds of life instead. Why let our life's problems or things that we lack be our focal point?

It is impossible for us to stay happy all the time, but it is possible for us to stay content.

Happiness is a fleeting feeling, while contentment is a stable sense of peace.

And gratitude is essential in order for us to have contentment. Undoubtedly, we can only achieve this when our focal point is not what we have in lack.

Therefore, have a mindset of abundance and expansion.

Ultimately, everything we put our focus on gets bigger and expands. So, Focus on your purpose in this life. Focus on the numerous blessings. Focus on pleasing your creator. ❤
